This is a piece for a quartet of French horns. I composed this piece when the corridors of the school were being used to build new classrooms to accommodate the many new students. The whole corridor was filled with unpleasant smells and chaos. Unable to tolerate this environment, I eventually chose to go outside and practice my instrument in the garden. This is what inspired me to compose this piece. I felt that the sound of the F horn would be a good expression of this dark and chaotic atmosphere, and at the same time, I wanted to practice my writing in four-part harmony and counter-melody. So I composed this French horn quartet piece. Through this music, I want to express a protest against the reconstruction, and my hope for a return to a peaceful school life.
