Red's Good Groove

Here's a great-sounding, slow blues from master pianist and composer Red Garland. This version for younger players features tenor sax and trumpet on the head followed by the full sax section with answers from the brass. It's a terrific piece for young soloists, as well as a good style study for the entire ensemble. Suggested solos along with chord/scale sheets in all keys, plus written bass lines and piano voicings, and reduced or expanded instrumentation options make this a perfect learning vehicle for young jazzers!
