Jancourt's Reverie Op. 61 was composed in the early 1880s. He dedicated it to his friend and colleague Francois Villaufret (1833-1888), one of the original bassoonists in the Societe de musique de chambre pour instruments a vent. The two men also played together in the Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire. The Reverie, Op. 61 has been commercially recorded by bassoonist William D. Davis and fortepianist Beverly Dutton for the Bravura compact disc label.
