Rhapsody for Trombone

Claude Smith composed this Rhapsody in 1971 for Warren Covington, an accomplished trombonist and leader of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra from 1958-1961.  It represents a remarkably creative and challenging collaboration between two musicians, each at the height of their artistic careers.  Available for the first time in a sparkling edition for trombone and piano, this is unquestionably a significant contribution to the repertoire for the serious trombonist.  A concert band accompaniment is available on rental.
