This great minor swing chart was written by Al Cohn for Charlie Barnet's 1949 band. The arrangement featured Barnet on soprano saxophone but no part was actually written for him. Throughout much of the arrangement the alto saxophone 2 part was blank leading one to believe that Cohn was planning to re-score and use it as an alto feature for another band. For this publication the melody has been placed into the alto saxophone 2 part so that no soprano soloist is required. Solos are also featured for tenor saxophone, trombone, and piano. Ranges: Trumpet 1 F6; Trumpet 2 D6; Trumpet 3 A6 (optional C7); Trombone 1 C5; Trombones 2 3 Bb4.
