"Risen" is an Easter Sunday anthem, beginning in a contemplative mood, gathering energy and ending with joyful Hallelujahs. All four SATB melodic parts weave together to form dissonance and harmony, so parts of the anthem can be challenging. Each line of the opening section may be sung with just enough rubato to push and pull the tempo a bit. My 30-voice choir enjoyed the challenge of the dissonance and reveled in the joyful ending.
