Rondos Op. 1 and Op. 5

Edited by Idil Biret.  These two Rondos are among the least performed works of Chopin.  They date from his extreme youth (Op. 1 having been composed at age fifteen and Op. 5 one year later).  But, in spite of it, these pieces, especially the highly original Op. 5, already bear the mark of a mature mind able to produce an elegant and successful synthesis between an unusual harmonic inventiveness and transcendental virtuosity.  Preface, p. 2-3.  Score, 31 p.
