Ruminations I

Ruminations I is a piece written for solo tuba. This piece creates an environment that gives space to as many tubists as possible by including sections that emulate orchestral excerpts, concertos, and contemporary pieces. To emphasize the ruminating element in performance practice, this piece also explores unmetered sections. The title, Ruminations I, derives from these sections -the thoughts of the tubists-, along with ruminations of my own on what a tubist might desire in a solo work.
