This Quintet was originally written during my Middle School days at  Hillcrest for the band. We just had a Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and two  Trombones at that time and Mike Metzler was our director. This was one of the  first pieces I ever wrote, and I've revised it for a traditional Woodwind  Quartet of Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn, and Bassoon instead of the odd  instrumentation from when it was first penned. Enjoy!

Woodwind Quintet

This Baroque-style Wind Trio was written in three movements for Flute,  Oboe, and Bassoon. The first movement, Allegro moderato, is a study in  counterpoint and cannon, while the Chaconne of the second movement provides  the opportunity for lyrical playing between the ensemble. The work finishes  with the lively counterpoint of the Allegro moderato movement.                 This Baroque-style Wind Trio is around 10 minutes long, and although it is  scored for winds, could be played by other C instruments.                 The three movements

    This song cycle, written for Baritone and Piano, is a setting of portions
  of Alfred, Lord Tennyson's poetry cycle "In Memoriam, A.H.H." which
  was written over a period of about 20 years. Tennyson's daughter's fiance was
  killed and Tennyson wrote the cycle of about 150 poems over 20 years as a
  grieving process. In this cycle, I've chosen parts of 5 poems that go through
  the stages of grief, including the famous "Tis' better to have loved and
  lost than never to have lost at all." The complete cycle in
  approximately 25-30 minutes in duration. The piano and vocal score is 33
