Sarabande

Handel’s Sarabande is the fourth movement from his Keyboard Suite in D minor (HWV 437), composed in the early 18th century and published in 1733. The piece is famous for its stately, solemn character and has become widely recognized, especially after being prominently featured in Stanley Kubrick’s film “Barry Lyndon” The work is particularly noted for its emotional depth and is often associated with a sense of solemnity or mourning. Its later orchestrations and uses in film and TV have only increased its popularity. Here is an arrangement for string quartet that you will enjoy playing. A score and separate parts are provided.
