The poem by 19th-century Irish poet Ethna Carbery depicts a story common in Irish folklore: a young man is lured into the supernatural Celtic Otherworld (Tír na nÓg), where he loses all memory of his home and loved ones.   Bernstein's Chichester Psalms. The difficulty level is moderate, suitable for

This solemn prayer alternates between repeated accessible choral refrains and solo verses for soprano or tenor. Sim Shalom is recited or sung at the end of the Amidah, a central part of the Jewish worship service.

Sim Shalom

An original setting of the popular hymn text by Folliott S. Pierpont, this anthem expresses joyful gratitude in a worship or concert context. The warm harmonies and flowing 6/8 meter lend themselves to expressive phrasing, with the violin part adding additional color if available. In the last verse, the tenors and basses have a 9/8 version of the classic hymn melody alongside the original material.
