"Scarborough Fair" is an English folk song that is centuries
old in which a young man tells about his love and lists a series of
impossible tasks for her to complete. The song has remained popular
throughout the years but was particularly brought into public eye when the
folk-rock duo Simon and Garfunkel covered it incorporating lyrics of their
own.
This a cappella, quartet/choir with optional hand drum part by Mark Lewis
showcases all four voice parts with key changes that place the melody nicely
within every vocal range. Each verse explores a different method of
accompaniment giving the whole choir a variety of choral experiences.
