Schubert Sonata in C major D 279 completed by Neil Crossland

I am excited to share that I have completed Franz Schubert's Piano Sonata in C Major, D. 279 by finishing the incomplete fourth movement. Schubert, known for his expressive melodies and rich harmonic language, left this sonata unfinished, with only three movements written and a fourth movement almost complete. Inspired by his distinct style and the beauty of the existing movements, I set out to create a final movement that would seamlessly blend with Schubert's original work. My goal was to craft a conclusion that authentically reflects Schubert's musical voice, capturing his lyrical elegance and structural balance. This completion not only provides a fitting end to the sonata but also allows listeners to experience the work in its entirety, as it might have been had Schubert completed it himself. I hope this addition brings a new dimension to the sonata and resonates with those who admire Schubert's timeless music.
