Serenade

Serenade is a lively work for string trio (violin 1, violin 2 or viola, and cello) that features playful counterpoint and spirited dialogue between the parts. With a style that nods to the clarity and charm of composers from the classical era, this piece captures the early stages of my compositional voice. When I first became interested in composing, I was drawn to the intimacy and challenge of chamber music. Serenade was one of my earliest attempts at writing for a small ensemble and remained tucked away for years before finding its way back to the light.
