This hip-hop song was written in collaboration with seventh grade students to express the joy of coming home on a Friday for the weekend. The composer strongly encourages directors considering this song to keep the lyrics fresh by engaging in rewriting them completely if you so desire. Suggestions are provided on how to do that. Or, if you prefer, perform it as it is for that "retro" feel (even if "retro" only means what was popular last year). Your students will be challenged by the part singing, rap sections, and call and response with the audience. Give the song a listen, and hopefully a try.
