Seven Mountains Mambo

This small-group chart is based on the big-band chart Mambo over the Mountain, also by Rick Hirsch. The inspiration for this one is based on the great mambos of Spanish Harlem and includes a catchy tune with a danceable groove. The three-chord solo section is accessible by developing improvisers and feels great for more experienced players. With its flexibly scored instrumentation, it works well with many combinations of horns plus rhythm section, and as for few as one horn plus rhythm section.
