Alexander Borodin (1833-1887) wrote his String Sextet in D minor around 1860, it is believed, while he continued his studies in chemistry in Heidelberg. Better known for his orchestral works, Borodin's chamber works are also often wonderful pieces of music. Of the Sextet, unfortunately only the first two movements survive. Instrumentation: 2 Violins, 2 Violas, and 2 Violoncellos. Reprint edition.
