Inteurmediate Level. Have fun with these popular duets! Some are playful, others are serious, and some make duet partners laugh when their hands get close to each other. A commission from the Billings Music Teacher Association, these duets have been performed often, resulting in a second edition. The duets are based on the modes: Ionian, Dorian, Phyrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, Locrian, Ionian. (to end on a "happy note"), all based on the white keys of the piano, illustrating the fifth note above and below, which creates intervals that sound strange, but create a different character and mood with each mode.
