Oscar's Blues

Wow! This tribute to jazz legend Oscar Peterson is a wonderful way to expose developing players to one of the icons of jazz history. Blues-based changes help to make this chart accessible while the melody and the voicings capture the feel of Peterson's music. The open solo section allows for soloists of choice with written or ad lib solos. Featuring mostly full ensemble playing, it also has some very cool trades between soloists and the band. All this, and it's playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations. Highly recommended!
