The First Noel

This traditional Christmas carol begins with the familiar melody set to jazz harmonies in a chorale style before moving into a medium-tempo jazz waltz. Students will have the opportunity to study standard jazz articulations and rhythms as well as idiomatic chord voicings. The solo section includes suggested written solos and chord symbols for students who want to improvise.
