Blaze

Just as the title suggests, this piece is all full of fire! An opening theme in 3/4 with driving rhythms, heavy accents, and dramatic dynamic shifts fuels the blaze. A more lyrical B section in 4/4 with the cellos and violas at the fore provides a great contrast. Players are given the opportunity to reinforce both forward and backward extensions as well as accented and off-the-bow strokes. All sections get the opportunity to shine. A great opener!
