This well-loved American folksong will create a beautiful moment in any performance.  Arranged to be playable by either full orchestra or string orchestra, there is a deep, sonorous quality in this writing that will make your group sound rich and full.  Once the tune is elegantly stated in the key of C, a simple four-note motive passed from instrument to instrument creates a marvelous modulation to the new key of F.
