This lively arrangement of Grainger's delightful original morris dance is based on his 1909 chamber version. The unusual scoring of that version has been retained, with some adjustments, in Sandra Dackow's version for string orchestra. Scored for Four Violins, Viola, Two Cellos and Bass, with occasional divisi in several of the parts, there's enough going on to keep everyone happy! Using a variety of bowings, this piece is lots of fun, and a good challenge to work it up to tempo.
