Shillelagh!

The word in the title is a wooden walking stick that Irishmen carried as they went around their daily routine. It had many purposes, but no matter what the use, it was always an item of personal pride and status. In honor of this proud symbol, familiar Irish folk songs were used as a basis for this tuneful rhapsody.
