Short Seasonal Preludes for Organ

Written in a fughetta style, these arrangements may serve as introductions that precede congregational hymn singing. Most treatments include several intonation measures before introducing the initial phrase of the tune. The arranger also notes: "If wishing to extend a prelude, upon its completion consider playing the hymnal harmonization (possibly soloing the melody on a separate manual) and then repeating the prelude, preferably with some change in registration. ABA treatments of this type provide unified voluntaries of three to four minutes."
