Volume 1: Oceanic Short Songs are collections of independent and short compositions. All works are for flexible instrumentation with the option to use multiple performers or just one (the vocalist). SCORE NOTES: Top Part = Electronic Playback (squiggly lines indicate sound if squiggly reappears at the end of a piece the sound went to nothing after the initial playback. Middle Part = Percussion bell-like sounds of performers choice (anchor bells, triangle, finger cymbals/crotales with tringle beater, wind chime with beater, singing bowl, etc). Bottom Part = Voice any of these movements, the voice can be transposed to accommodate the performers range. PERFORMANCE NOTES: This collection is not a cycle or other multi-movement composition. It is 10 separate pieces. They can be performed together or by themselves there is no intended order for presentation (if doing multiple works). Each piece runs approximately 60 seconds so, pick and choose for the space you need for a performance or use them to practice/learn or just sing them recreationally. These works can be performed with 3, 2, or 1 performer(s):\ 3-person: (1) voice, (2) percussion, (3) electronic playback 2-person: (1) voice and percussion, (2) electronic playback; OR (1) voice, (2) percussion (vocalist or percussionist triggers the electronic playback) 1-person: (1) sings and (1) performs on percussion and (1) triggers electronic playback Each score is independent and should be reflected as separate titles (not as a multi-movement work).
