Sinfonia (Arioso)

J.S. Bach's Sinfonia (Arioso), which opens Cantata 156, contains one of the most exquisite melodies ever created. It is thought to have come from an earlier oboe concerto, now presumed lost. This transcription by Charles J. Torian, Jr. splits the original melody, as well as an added countermelody, among several instruments. The music, of but moderate technical difficulty, has a duration of approximately 3:00.
