Sinfonietta No. 6 "Blossom of the Heart"

A 2024 competition commission, this work develops around a theme that moves chromatically, appearing in several climactic moments throughout the piece. Even the chimes at the beginning are fragments of this theme. Since wind instruments produce music by breathing air into them, the performers' breath and energy metaphorically resonate together in a symphonic flow, ultimately blossoming into a grand and beautiful flower.
