Sing Lullaby

Sing Lullaby was commissioned by music director Michael Batcho for the Choir of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Milwaukee. Set in variation form, the work imparts a perception of improvisation as singers and players alter harmonies, melody and rhythm to forward the unfolding narrative. The instrumental parts are for oboe, French horn, cello and organ. The orchestration adds string orchestra and harp. The solo, conceived for lyric tenor, may also be sung by soprano.
