Six English Epitaphs

Based on inscriptions found on tombstones in cemeteries throughout England, this cycle of six songs for bass-baritone and piano is the co-winner of the 1998 NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Art Song Competition. The cycle includes: In Memory of Thomas Thetcher; Cadman's Flight; Tombstone of a Roman Soldier; Elizabeth Poticary; John Bell of Bonekenbrig and In a Summer Churchyard of the Wylye Valley.
