Small Serenade

The Small Serenade for flute and harp or piano is the third piece in the five part English Suite. The whole consists of, in order, Prelude, Minuet, Small Serenade, Pastoral and Country Dance; hence the subtitle (in the old style). However, this subtitle, to me at least, signifies one additional factor: the tempi must be strictly adhered to at all times.
