This piano duet is a story about two trains in the Siberian tundra, each starting on opposite sides, pulling out from their stations, gradually gaining speed and momentum, getting out into the open track, with snow flying out from underneath the wheels which are in constant motion, and snow flurries twirling in the wind. During the journey, the trains distantly pass each other, hearing each other’s horns, eventually slowing down, pulling back into their own stations and stopping. It is approximately 5:20 long, for intermediate musicians with mature hands; high school and up. The audio is a sample of the mid-section of the piece.
