So You Want to Sing Jazz

A guided tour through the art and science of jazz vocal styles, this book looks at the role of improvisation and the unique ways jazz incorporates conversational delivery, rhythmic phrasing, and melodic embellishment. Also includes a discussion of specific singers who influenced and defined vocal jazz as we know it today.
