Commissioned by Cindy Karm for the Concert Bells of Fort Worth, this dreamy, richly textured piece evokes the cold of winter without being a holiday song. While not extremely difficult from a technical standpoint, the music affords a stunning opportunity for musical nuance and expression. It is a journey into a harsh winter, forging a path through cold months of long nights until we reach the renewing warmth of spring after 81 spellbinding, captivating measures.
