Sonata for Clarinet and Piano

Theresa Martin (b. 1979) is a composer of energetic, melodious, and rhythmically driven music and often draws her inspiration from literature, images, nature, and personal experiences. Sonata (2005) was commissioned by Walt Nielsen. It is a three movement characteristic work modeled after a paradigm involving interpersonal relationships, namely, initially getting to know, then having to part from, and eventually reflecting upon, a particularly good friend.
