Sonata for Solo Cello No. 2

For the last 2 autumns, I have participated in a collaborative cello project in which a composer is paired with a cellist and tasked to write a solo work. My first attempt was very much rock-based, where my second is much more refined and structured. I play around with odd meters 7/8, 5/8, and sometimes 10/8 which are based on my roots in progressive rock and metal music. Youll hear the initial theme developed at measure 82, followed by the recapitulation at measure 126. This was a ton of fun to compose and I hope you enjoy as well.
