SONATA FOR TRUMPET AND PIANO

I composed my SONATA FOR TRUMPET AND PIANO in 1970, during my studies with composer Hunter Johnson, at the University of Texas at Austin. Soon after its completion, I played the trumpet part in the works first performance at Texas. Piano and Trumpet are the two instruments I have played during my career as a composer, so writing for them together, under the mentorship of Hunter Johnson, remains a special moment for me. SONATA FOR TRUMPET AND PIANO is a three-movement work in Sonata form: I. Adagio - Allegro, II. Adagio, III. Presto. The difficulty level is suggested for performance by High School and College students, and Professional instrumentalists.
