The Sonata for Violin and Piano was written as a masters project written for my good friend, Douglas Beyer, who was a long time section violinist in the Salina Symphony. The first movement is romantic, sweeping, and grand as the violin plays long lyrical lines over a resonant accompaniment. The second movement is gentle and intimate, leading to an energetic finale.
