Found among his papers after his death, Ludwig van Beethoven's Flute Sonata in B-flat Major, Ahn. 4 is a work for flute and keyboard in four movements. Although the original manuscript was not written using Beethoven's handwriting, musicologist and editor of this edition Willy Hess argued that the manuscript would not have been included with Beethoven's papers unless he had a personal connection with the composition.
This sonata is truly a due between flute and keyboard, with both instruments sharing the melody at times.
