Sonata in Trio No. 3, Movements II, III, and VII

Guerre was the foremost female composer of the French Baroque period. She received a thorough education in music and as a teenager became a composer and musician in the court of Louis XIV. This stellar arrangement showcases three of the seven movements of her trio sonata in a seamless single-movement arrangement. Rhythmically charged with syncopation and dotted rhythms, it's an energetic work that gives all sections engaging parts. Cello and bass parts are written in octaves. A superb choice for festival performances – this should be included in every orchestra's library!
