Spirituals and Hymns

The purpose of this collection is to provide songs specifically designed as a means to learn and meditate on the principal figures in the story of salvation. Through each song, we discover key parts of God's plan for us, his people, beginning with the Old Testament in the stories of Joseph, Moses, and Joshua, eventually arriving at the New Testament with John the Baptist and, ultimately, Christ Jesus. These songs are especially suited for use in Bible classes and catechetical settings with children (of all ages), as well as in formation sessions and retreats. In singing these stories of salvation and God's plan for us, "the Word takes hold, nourishing the earth and bringing forth its fruit" (cf. Isaiah 55:1011).
