Spontaneous Beings

This work is based on an authentic folk music tradition and oral history of a large group of Native American tribes of northeastern North America. The title is a literal translation of their name for themselves. The piece relies heavily on traditional percussion instruments, with optional substitutes suggested, in an approachable yet powerful presentation.
