Squonk Blues

This quirky and spirited piece, in the style of a blues waltz, is based on the mythical legend of the squonk, a forest creature that dissolves into a pool of tears when cornered. On dark, moonless nights when no one is around, they gather together to sing and dance. A unique and fascinating piece for first-year bands, it uses only the first six notes of a B-flat scale.
