Steam Whistle

This cookin' chart is tuneful, funky and is set in a half-time feel. A written or improvised solo is provided for alto saxophone with the accessible chord progression allowing the improviser to solo using the notes in a concert E-flat minor pentatonic scale (Eb, Gb, Ab, Bb, Db). Interesting material is well distributed throughout the various instrumental families, the parts are well articulated, the ranges are reasonable, and the rhythm section parts are notated with chords symbols provided. A modulation heightens the excitement, and it's playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations. A strong chart with a great groove!
