This rich setting of Eternal Father, Strong to Save for bells and organ is given extra depth and aural interest with the addition of optional trumpet, trombone, and/or timpani. A full choral verse gives way to a verse accompanied by eighth-note chords and arpeggios in the bells before leading into a more subdued treatment of the theme. A final bold verse brings the piece to a satisfying conclusion.
