Sunflower

13-part percussion ensemble piece featuring funky rhythms, swaying melodies, and a mythological story. The piece takes the listeners and musicians through the love and heartbreak of Clytie, a Greek water nymph who fell in unrequited love with Helios, the sun god. Her heartbreak eventually transformed her into a sunflower, forever captivated by the sun.
