Sweet Hour of Prayer

Here is a hymn that lends itself perfectly to a simple, meditative setting, and Sandra Eithun's treatment is thoughtful, expressive and accessible to any choir.  Quarter-note motion and clustered harmonies sound lovely with handbells or chimes, and the pensive mood is beautifully conveyed either as an offertory, prayer meditation, introit, call to worship, or postlude.  Appropriate for communion, too.
