Renaissance
Maddalena Casulana (1544-1590) was an accomplished vocalist, lutenist, and composer. Her first book of madrigals was published in Venice in 1568. It is possibly the first published book of any kind written by a woman. She dedicated this book to Isabella de Medici, "not only to give witness to my devotion to Your Excellency, but also to show to the world the foolish error of men who so greatly believe themselves to be the masters of high intellectual gifts that cannot, it seems to them, be equally common among women."
Duration - 2:11
Parts - Violin, Violin, Viola, Cello. Flexible: Substitute Violin part in case there is no Viola.
