Symphony for One Thousand Drums

Originally commissioned for the opening ceremony of Cleveland's Ingenuity Festival in 2006, the Symphony for 1000 Drums exemplifies El-Dabh's persona at the interface of classical composition, ethnomusicology and universal consciousness. It creates bridges and erodes barriers between professionals and amateurs, artists and observers. It fuses modern and traditional musical sensibilities while repurposing instruments as fountains of healing energy.
