Tachyon

Tachyon is the second in a series of works inspired by cutting-edge physics. The tachyon is a theoretical type of subatomic particle which has negative mass and can travel faster than light. Will this someday lead to interstellar travel, backwards telephones, and time travel? This grade half work uses only notes from a one-octave D major scale and half and quarter note rhythms to make this exciting work accessible to the newest musicians. Explore the science (and science fiction) with your students, and enjoy the palindromic melody in the middle section.
